The Disability Index is a confidential benchmarking tool that helps companies measure disability inclusion across their organization. The Index gives companies a structured way to assess current practices, identify strengths and gaps, and use data to advance disability inclusion across business functions.
In 2026, based on input from hundreds of companies and professionals around the world, the Index introduced an expanded global participation model, a modernized question set, and a maturity-based scoring framework. Participation in the Index is free for eligible companies located anywhere in the world.

Trusted by over 70% of the Fortune 100 and nearly half of the Fortune 500, the tool helps companies determine opportunities for growth through data-driven actions and outcomes that deliver long-term business impact.
The 2026 Disability Index is available to non-governmental businesses or organizations with independent governance and more than 500 employees. Companies can benchmark at the enterprise-wide level or by individual country, with country-level participation requiring each country submission to represent at least 500 employees.
The Index consists of 76 yes/no questions across nine categories, each worth one point. Categories include:

A small number of unscored questions are included for data collection purposes; no points are awarded or deducted for these questions.
Registration for the Disability Index is completely free of charge for eligible companies. There are no registration fees and no geographic restrictions. The Index is available worldwide to any company that fulfills the eligibility requirements. Every participant receives a complimentary Universal Report with their score and proficiency level.
Companies can use the findings to identify strengths and gaps, route insights to the teams that own related business systems, and inform planning across HR, governance, procurement, technology, product, marketing, communications, and executive leadership.
