Veterans with Disabilities in Business
From Service to Opportunity
Veterans bring leadership, adaptability, technical expertise and experience solving complex problems to the workforce and marketplace.
Disability:IN works with U.S. veterans and leading companies to strengthen the pathways that turn that experience into opportunity. Through research, career development and business certification, we help expand opportunities for veterans with disabilities to build careers and grow businesses.

Advancing Opportunity for Veterans With Disabilities
Our work connects research with practical pathways across the business ecosystem.

Research
Understand What Helps Disabled Veterans Thrive
The Pathfinder Project studies the employment experiences and career pathways of disabled veterans to identify what helps people thrive before, during and after the transition to employment in business.

Development
Advancing Veteran Talent
Veterans with disabilities can participate in the NextGen Leaders Program, connecting high-potential talent with mentors, professional development, and opportunities with leading companies.

Opportunity
Open Doors for Veteran Entrepreneurs
Veteran and service-disabled veteran business owners can pursue certification and connect with development resources, peers, and contract opportunities across our corporate network.

The Pathfinder Project
The Pathfinder Project is a research initiative that partners with businesses to advance disability inclusion for disabled veterans. Grounded in the lived experiences, career pathways, and success stories of disabled veterans, the project surfaces actionable insights to help companies strengthen disability-inclusive hiring and retention strategies and inform the work of organizations serving the veteran community.
New findings from the Pathfinder Project are coming soon.
Development Opportunities for Veteran Talent
Build Your Career Through NextGen
The transition from military service can also be the beginning of a new professional chapter.
The Disability NextGen Leaders Program helps qualified early career talent and veterans with disabilities start that chapter. Participants gain access to professional mentors, career-connected development, networking and opportunities to build relationships with employers across industries.
“Being part of Disability:IN’s NextGen program was such a rewarding experience! The program gave me practical skills while introducing me to a community. It was empowering to grow both professionally and personally. ”
